Barcelona remain calm over Atletico Madrid complaint; stick to their plan for Julian Alvarez

FC Barcelona have no intention of changing their transfer strategy despite Atletico Madrid’s formal complaint regarding the club’s pursuit of Julian Alvarez, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan side received official notification from both FIFA and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) after Atletico alleged that they had improperly approached the striker while he remained under contract.
Within the club, however, there is little concern that the complaint will have any meaningful consequences.
Barça believe complaint lacks evidence
Barcelona’s legal department is understood to be confident that Atletico’s case has little substance.
Club officials believe the complaint contains no evidence capable of proving any wrongdoing and point out that Atletico themselves acknowledge the lack of concrete proof within their submission.

For that reason, the Blaugrana see no reason to alter their transfer plans or step back from negotiations.
Barcelona insist rules were followed
Furthermore, Barcelona maintain they acted entirely within the regulations.
From the club’s perspective, the process only began after Alvarez publicly expressed his desire to leave Atletico Madrid during the Club World Cup, openly stating that a transfer was the best solution and that he wanted to fulfil his dream.
Following those comments, Barcelona formally informed Atletico of their intention to sign the striker by submitting an offer worth €100 million.
The La Liga champions believe that sequence of events demonstrates it has respected the proper procedures throughout the process.

Despite the legal dispute, Hansi Flick continues to view Alvarez as his priority signing to strengthen Barcelona’s attack ahead of the new season.
The German coach considers the Argentine one of the key pieces needed to complete his squad, and the club remain committed to pursuing the deal if circumstances allow.
Barcelona’s position has not changed, but much of the transfer now depends on the player himself.
The Blaugrana are now believed to be waiting for another public or private indication from the Argentine that he wants to leave Atletico before he is due to report for pre-season on 10 August.
Until then, Barcelona intend to remain patient, confident that the complaint will not derail their plans and that the situation could still evolve before the transfer window closes.
