Although there aren't any pads on, or true "full-speed" competition, Denver Broncos wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is already making impressive plays.

During Thursday's acclimation practice, Waddle went up with one hand, catching a pass from quarterback Bo Nix in the end zone. The Broncos showed the play on their official social media page. The ball, a perfect throw from Nix, represents the biggest storyline of the Denver offense going into 2026. Nix, with his healthy ankle, throwing to the team's biggest addition of the offseason, Waddle.

Former Broncos quarterback Ben DiNucci also commented on the throw. "Cleanest Bo has looked mechanically in his NFL career - ball is jumping out of his hand , looks healthy," DiNucci tweeted. "Waddle looks fun - Broncos haven’t had that type of playmaker in years."

Coach Sean Payton spoke about the impact Waddle brings to the team on Wednesday. "There are certain prototypes at every position, and then there is that one where if they can walk on water," Payton said. "(Waddle is) one of those players relative to how he runs, how he stops and his competitive instincts. There is a clear vision for him. I think the knowledge we had with all the other pieces relative to a trade like that was important.ā€

Waddle and the offense will look to get off to quick starts, especially with a new play caller in offensive coordinator Davis Webb behind the headset.

The Broncos will finally face their fans in the first full-speed practice of training camp on July 31.
