Thane: District Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Shrikrishna Panchal addressed media representatives at the Committee Hall of the District Collectorate regarding the implementation of the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana (Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme) and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls conducted as per the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

1. Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Timeline & House-to-House Enumeration
August 17, 2026 (Enumeration Deadline): Voters in the current electoral rolls must fill out enumeration forms and submit signed copies to their assigned Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during door-to-door visits.
August 24, 2026 (Publication of Draft Electoral Roll): Names of citizens who complete and sign the enumeration form by August 17 will be published in the draft electoral roll. The draft list will be available at Electoral Registration Officers' (ERO) offices, as well as the official websites of the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Maharashtra.
2. One Voter, One Location Rule (Prevention of Duplicate Enrolment)
Under Sections 17 and 18 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, no person is entitled to be registered in the electoral roll for more than one constituency or location.
Voters currently enrolled at multiple places must fill out the enumeration form only at their current place of residence.
Duplicate entries at other locations will be marked as "Already Enrolled" and automatically omitted from those locations.

The period for claims and objections will run for one month, from August 24, 2026, to September 23, 2026:
Form 6 (New Registration): Eligible citizens missing from the draft roll or new voters must submit Form 6 along with the required declaration and supporting documents.
Form 7 (Objection / Deletion): Voters in the constituency can object to any entry using Form 7 for deletion.
Form 8 (Corrections / Updating Details): Used for updating or correcting existing details in the roll.
4. Strict Penalty for False Declarations
Under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, making false declarations or statements in relation to voter registration is a punishable offense, carrying imprisonment for up to one year, a fine, or both.

October 27, 2026: The Final Electoral Roll will be officially published following verification of applications by Electoral Registration Officers.
Pursuant to Sections 22 and 23 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, electoral roll revision is a continuous process (Continuous Updation). Eligible citizens who miss the revision window can still apply for inclusion via Form 6 even after the final list is published.
