Wild Have Free Agent Target To Consider In Former Kraken Winger
· Yahoo Sports
The Minnesota Wild have added multiple new players to their roster this off-season. Among their newcomers are Blake Coleman, Maxim Shabanov, and Olli Maatta.
Yet, when looking at the Wild's current roster, it is fair to argue that they should consider adding another player to their group before the start. While there are not many notable unrestricted free agents left, one player who could make sense for the Wild to make a push for is Eeli Tolvanen.

It is a little surprising that Tolvanen has not been signed at this point in the off-season. He is right in his prime at 27 years old and has been a solid top-nine winger for multiple seasons now. This is because he not only provides solid secondary offensive production but also a high amount of grit.
Tolvanen appeared in 78 games last season with the Seattle Kraken, where he posted 12 goals, 36 points, and 187 hits. This was after he scored a career-high 23 goals and recorded 35 points and 237 hits in 81 games for Seattle in 2024-25. With numbers like these, he would have the potential to be a solid pickup for the Wild's third line if successfully signed.
With it being this late in the off-season, it is also possible that a player like Tolvanen could be more open to signing an affordable one-year, prove-it deal. With the Wild needing more forward depth, there would be no harm in them taking a gamble on a gritty forward like Tolvanen.
