The Jayhawks are searching for their first commitment in the 2027 class after Javon Bardwell reclassified to 2026 and decommitted from Kansas earlier this month.
Jordan could give Bill Self and his staff another opportunity to land an elite wing.
Malachi Jordan could fill a future need for Kansas
The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Jordan is ranked as the No. 23 overall prospect and No. 7 small forward in the 2027 class by 247Sports.
Jordan already possesses impressive size for his age and is known for his athleticism and ability to finish around the rim. His physical tools could make him an intriguing fit for a Kansas roster that may need to replace significant production on the wing following the 2026-27 season.
There are still areas of his game that need development, particularly as a perimeter creator and defender, but Jordan's combination of size, finishing and passing ability gives him considerable upside.
Kansas has also been exploring other options at the position. German wing Fabian Kayser recently visited Lawrence as the Jayhawks continue searching internationally and domestically for their first 2027 commitment.
With Tyran Stokes widely expected to be a one-and-done player, there could be a clear path to playing time on the wing by the time Jordan reaches college.
His upcoming trip to Lawrence will give Self and his staff their chance to make an early impression in what is shaping up to be a competitive recruitment.
