Five standout players from Michigan State football's win over Toledo

Michigan State football will leave Friday night's win over Toledo with plenty of work to do, but the Spartans still managed to get the job done and earned their first win of the Pat Fitzgerald era. While it was closer than some fans may have hoped, MSU still showed a lot during this one, and several players stood out with some strong play that should be encouraging as we move forward.
Below, we look at five Spartans who stood out in the win over Toledo.

Cam Edwards
In the first half, Cam Edwards looked unstoppable. Then, it was pretty obvious he got a little banged up and may have also been dealing with cramping and lost some of his burst. Nonetheless, it's pretty clear that Edwards has some juice and the Spartans will be riding him on offense this season.
Eli Coenen
Eli Coenen's performance against Toledo was impossible to ignore. He didn't just flash, he jumped off the screen. Coenen had a sack, a tackle-for-loss, and a pass deflection, and several more QB pressures.
Liam Boyd
What is there to say about Liam Boyd? Five field goals, with his only miss coming from a block that wasn't his fault, and a 51-yard bomb to seal the win? Boyd is legit.
Alessio Milivojevic
I was impressed with Alessio's poise in this game. He never looked rattled, even when the Spartans were down in the fourth quarter. He didn't turn the ball over, he didn't try to do too much. He didn't light the world on fire, but he got the job done, and I'm impressed.
Jayden Savoury
Jayden Savoury had a lot of hype this summer, and it's not hard to see why. The redshirt freshman is big, moves well, and has great hands. He was the third leading receiver on the team and clearly has some chemistry with Alessio.
