Kickoff for LSU's 2026 season opener against Clemson on Saturday, Sept. 5 has been delayed by lightning in the area. Per NCAA rules, competition must be suspended if lightning is detected within an 8-mile radius.
Officials announced at 5:39 p.m. that kickoff has been delayed. It is unclear when the LSU-Clemson game will start.
Stadium officials displayed lightning delay warnings on the videoboards before fans could enter the stadium Saturday.
