The Seattle Seahawks could be missing starting safety Nick Emmanwori for next Wednesday's regular season opener against the New England Patriots.

According to Tacoma News Tribune's Gregg Bell, Emmanwori's Week 1 status is considered "iffy" as he continues to work his way back from ankle surgery.
"Iffy whether Emmanwori plays week one, following his arthroscopic ankle surgery in July," Bell posted on X.
That could be a big loss for the Seahawks heading into a game against a Patriots offense with more weapons than the one they faced at Super Bowl LX. New England spent the offseason improving the offensive line, along with adding burgeoning star wide receiver Romeo Doubs and three-time All-Pro A.J. Brown to the receiving corps.
Couple all of that with the fact that Drake Maye is in his third year at quarterback and his second under offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, and it's clear why this will be a completely different matchup the second time around between the Patriots and Seahawks.
With that said, Seattle is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, and Lumen Field is a weekly house of horrors for visiting teams.
