The bitter rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese from college spilled over to the WNBA when they entered the league in 2024 with the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky, respectively.
It became a huge issue, as opposing fans added fuel to the fire by going back and forth with incendiary remarks about Clark and Reese. It did not help that the two stars also had on-court scuffles, although they downplayed them, even high-fiving in the All-Star Game.
Reese, who is now with the Atlanta Dream, has thrown jabs at Clark over the years. But since they became teammates on Team USA in March, they have gotten friendlier with each other.

After their 42-point win over Hungary, 108-56, in the quarterfinals of the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Germany on Wednesday, Reese acknowledged her floor connection with Clark.
“We’ve played against each other so many times, so I’m sure we know each other’s game like the back of our hands,” said Reese in an interview with TNT Sports.
“So it’s fun. We just continue to build chemistry because we know we’re going to be USA teammates for a while.”

Reese had nine points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals, while Clark had 10 points, three rebounds, nine assists—most of them to Reese—and two steals.
Team USA set multiple records in the blowout win, and Reese touted their continued improvement.
“We have so much talent around us. It makes everything easy. We’re still figuring each other out, but I think we’re gelling at the perfect time. Being able to go to the semifinals looking like this feels really good,” said the 24-year-old forward.
They will face in the semifinals the winner between Spain and Australia.
