The New England Patriots had the Seattle Seahawks right where they wanted for most of the season opener, but they fell apart late in the game. The Seahawks used their defense to their advantage, which helped them erase a 10-0 deficit, and they eventually took a 13-10 lead and won.

As for the Patriots, the offense wasn’t all great, and after throwing a touchdown earlier in the game, Drake Maye finished with three interceptions. It was an especially tough night for Romeo Doubs, who had three targets but no receptions. In the fourth quarter, he had a crucial drop that could’ve helped the Patriots move the chains.

After the game, Doubs was asked if his confidence was an issue, according to Carlos A. Lopez of SleeperHQ.

“No. Like I said, I just wasn’t locked in enough on the football. The results speak for themselves. I’ll be better moving forward,” Doubs said.

He was also seen in the locker room sitting by himself.

“Doubs is taking tonight hard, sitting by himself for long stretches in a locker room that has almost entirely cleared out. He had 0 catches on 3 targets, including the drop,” Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Outside of AJ Brown, Doubs was another new addition at the wide receiver position this season. Doubs signed a $68 million contract with the team, and that shows they had confidence that he was going to be a big part of the offense this season. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to make an impact in the first game, but the good news is that there’s an entire season left.

It wasn’t the best outing for the offense as a whole, especially in the fourth quarter where they couldn’t find a rhythm at all.
