Former Kansas State forward Cartier Martin originally signed a 10-day contract with the Charlotte Bobcats after impressing in what was then called the NBA D-League. Martin was signed from the Iowa Energy and impressed enough to be offered a standard deal to finish the season with Charlotte. All in all, Martin made 33 appearances for the Bobcats, averaging 2.6 points, one rebound, 0.4 assists and 0.2 steals in 8.1 minutes per contest.
Although he would play in a limited fashion at various stops during his career, Martin played seven NBA seasons, a remarkable number for an undrafted player. After his lone campaign with the Bobcats, Martin would spend time with the Warriors, Wizards, Hawks, Bulls and Pistons. He finished his career with averages of 5.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.4 steals in 243 appearances.
