While North Carolina Central secured a 30-22 victory over North Carolina A&T, headlines are emerging about a potential off-field incident. The Aggie-Eagle Classic was delayed by inclement weather, which caused the game to have a near-hour-long wait before it restarted. According to ESPN and Andscape reporter Kalan Hooks, North Carolina Central’s band, the Sound Machine, got into an altercation with North Carolina A&T’s football equipment team.

“Sources tell me the North Carolina Central Sound Machine got into a scuffle with the North Carolina A&T football equipment team before the band took the field at halftime. Seems the equipment team tried to cut through the band, which is an unwritten rule you should never break,” Hooks posted on his X account.

He then posted a video of what occurred, which Leonard Maxwell posted under the X account @MarathonMax2. The video shows North Carolina Central band members getting into a brief altercation with North Carolina A&T’s football equipment managers, who were on the sidelines in gray jackets as it rained. As of this writing, neither North Carolina A&T nor North Carolina Central has issued a statement about the scuffle.

North Carolina Central and North Carolina A&T squared off in the 98th edition of the Aggie-Eagle Classic. The game was moved from Saturday evening to Saturday afternoon as a precaution to avoid significant weather-related delays. Although the weather caused a delay, the game was played as scheduled. The Eagles led throughout the game, but North Carolina A&T, led by quarterback Kevin White, made it competitive.

Both teams now move forward in their respective football seasons.
