More big names went down in Week 4 of the 2026 Central Texas high school football season, as both Lake Travis and Vandegrift, ranked Nos. 1 and 3 in the American-Statesman's Class 6A power poll, lost in non-district matchups - the Vipers to a San Antonio private school powerhouse, the Vipers to former district rival Round Rock.

And in our Class 5A poll, our Nos. 3, 4 and 5 teams all lost as well; No. 3 Liberty Hill dropped its second straight game in a 28-21 loss at Midland Lee, No. 4 Lockhart was blown out by No. 1 Anderson and No. 5 Hendrickson was nipped by Killeen.
