Where rain could affect Braai Day plans
According to the South African Weather Service(SAWS), Limpopo, Free State, Mpumalanga, Northen Cape and KZN could see showers and thundershowers during the day.
If you are planning to spend time outdoors, keep an umbrella or rain jacket nearby, particularly if your plans extend into the afternoon when showers and thunderstorms can develop.
In KwaZulu-Natal, its going to be warm, becoming cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers.
Mpumalanga will be partly cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers in the afternoon so as Limpopo.
The Free State could see isolated showers and thundershowers in the south, so as the Northern Cape.
The Eastern Cape will also see isolated showers and thundershowers, while the Western Cape will remain mostly partly cloudy, with isolated showers and thundershowers possible in the extreme north-east.
Will you need sunscreen?
Not every part of the country will turn wet on Braai Day.
Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal have a High UVB sunburn index, while the Western Cape has a Very High index.
If you are heading outdoors in these areas, sunscreen, a hat and water may be more useful than an umbrella.
