NEW ORLEANS, La. - Holy Cross defensive end Roman Landry shines on the football field and in the classroom with a 4.71 GPA and 31 on the ACT.
"Let me tell you this, it's not easy at all. Sometimes I only have an hour or two to get my work done when I get home from practice," Landry said. "It's not easy at all, but you have to find the balance."

He's in the running to become the valedictorian of his class. His main competition for that title is his teammate on the defensive line Jaden Sterling. Their bond has helped Roman reach his potential.
"Me and Jaden have been best friends since third grade. We met at Holy Cross Primary School and have been here forever," Landry said. "We push each other and it has always been a competiton and we strive for better grades and to do better in classes and stuff like that."
"They're good examples to use. Be like this guy, emulate this guy, and do better in the classroom," Holy Cross head coach Scott Wattigny said. "They're both great influences on the field and in the classroom. They're tremendous leaders in the program."
Landry wants to become a lawyer and is deciding between LSU and Tulane for the next step in his academic journey. He's our Friday Night Football Scholar-Athlete of the Week, brought to you by your Southern Quality Ford Dealers.
