Prep Roundup: Lawrence County defeats Wilson in OT

Sep. 26—FLORENCE — Tavian Jones rushed for 181 yards and four touchdowns, including the eventual game-winner on the first play of overtime, as Lawrence County defeated Wilson 43-35.

Jones converted the 2-point run in overtime and the Lawrence County defense held the Warriors out of the end zone to secure the win.
Lawrence County rallied from a 16-0 deficit, taking its first lead of the game on a 17-yard run by Cam King early in the third quarter. Bryson Sawyer added a 27-yard touchdown run for Lawrence County in the fourth quarter.
Lawrence County (2-4) continues Class 4A, Region 7 play next week on the road at Ardmore.

West Limestone 21, Brewer 13: West Limestone quarterback Brayden Moore accounted for two total touchdowns, one passing and one rushing, as the Wildcats defeated Brewer in non-region play on Friday.
Moore completed 5 of 9 pass attempts for 104 yards, tossing a 70-yard touchdown to Emanuel Juarez in the second quarter. He carried the ball nine times for a team-high 80 yards with a 5-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and intercepted a pass on defense to help seal the victory late in the game.
Travis McCluskey rushed 19 times for 75 yards and one touchdown for West Limestone. Cole Drinkard led Brewer with 170 yards of total offense and a rushing touchdown. Reilly Burney passed for 99 yards with one touchdown.
West Limestone (3-2) jumps back into Class 3A, Region 7 play next week against Rogers. Brewer (2-4) travels to Fairview for a Class 4A, Region 8 game.

Elkmont 35, Danville 6: Layton Schrimsher passed for three touchdowns, and ran four a fourth, as Elkmont picked up its first win of the season on Friday.
Schrimsher tossed a pair of touchdowns to Cooper Wales, who also had a rushing touchdown, and one touchdown to Braidyn Amick.
Elkmont (1-4) returns to Class 3A, Region 7 play next week against Lauderdale County. Danville (0-5) travels to Winfield for a Class 3A, Region 5 game.

West Morgan wins four: West Morgan swept a pair of tri-matches early in the week, defeating Ardmore (3-1) and Russellville (2-0) on Tuesday and Madison County (2-1) and Lauderdale County (2-1) on Monday.
Haniyah Standridge led the Rebels with 81 kills and 40 digs across the four wins, while Raygen Muse added 32 kills and 22 digs. Lila Mae Whitt finished with 113 assists.

Maggie Jae Marsh had 20 assists, 13 digs, five aces and three kills for the Black Bears, while Kassidy Cunningham added four kills and nine blocks.
