Oregon’s Dante Moore carted off field after horrific hit

Oregon’s Dante Moore was knocked out of Saturday night’s game against USC after he suffered an injury on a hit by USC’s Desman Stephens II. Moore, a Heisman contender and projected top-three pick in next year’s draft remained on the ground for several minutes and has to leave on a stretcher.

Here’s the hit in question that came as Moore was sliding after a scramble. It’s about as brutal as you will see and Moore was completely unable to defend himself.

NBC’s Noah Eagle said on the broadcast that Moore was moving his arms as he was surrounded by his concerned teammates. He was put into an ambulance and there is no immediate report on his condition.

Moore was a five-star quarterback in Michigan and began his college career with UCLA in 2023. He transferred to Oregon for his sophomore year and saw limited action. Last season was a breakout year for Moore as he threw for 3,565 yards and 30 touchdowns while establishing himself as one of the top offensive players in the nation. He is off to a hot start in his senior campaign, already tossing nine touchdowns without an interception while cementing himself at the top of every NFL mock draft.
