College Football Hall of Fame honors former Georgia RB

During the Georgia Bulldogs versus Oklahoma Sooners game, the Bulldogs had an opportunity to honor one of their legendary running backs. The National Football Foundation honored former Georgia Bulldog Garrison Hearst with an NFF Hall of Fame on-campus salute, which is a ceremony for newly elected College Football Hall of Fame inductees.
In this case, Hearst was honored in halftime of the Georgia-Oklahoma game. Hearst was a member of the 2026 NFF Hall of Fame class.

Hearst played from 1990 to 1992 with the Bulldogs. He won SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 1990 for rushing for 717 yards and five touchdowns on 162 attempts. In 1991, he had 968 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 153 attempts, and he earned Second-Team All-SEC.
1992 is what he is remembered for most. Hearst ran for an SEC-leading 1,547 yards and 19 touchdowns on 228 attempts, and he was second in the nation to Marshall Faulk (1,630). As a result of his great season, he earned a unanimous All-American selection, SEC player of the year, and the Doak Walker Award.
Hearst finished his college career second on the Georgia records list in rushing yardage (3,232), all-purpose yardage (3,934), and 100-yard rushing games (16), behind just Herschel Walker. He also finished third in career rushing touchdowns (33). He earned his props for his Hall of Fame career on Saturday.
