Superstar Victor Wembanyama made it clear the Spurs' five-game loss to the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals last June will drive the team from the moment training camp starts on Tuesday morning.

Addressing reporters at the team's media day Monday, the 22-year-old Frenchman said he's had a "few sleepless nights" after the loss to New York, which included the Spurs' humiliating, historic 29-point loss in Game 4 at Madison Square Garden.
"Maybe not sleepless nights, but hard to find sleep sometimes or hard emotions, haunting sometimes," he said.
But he was quick to add that losing to the Knicks will provide the Spurs fuel as they embark on what they hope will be another run to the Finals this season.
"We don't want to hide from anything," he said. "So we're going to face these emotions, face the reality that we have a hundred games to play, 100-plus. This is the reality of it.
"We're in a great spot. We're very hopeful, very ambitious, and we're ready."
But Wembanyama said returning to the Finals won't be easy. Among the obstacles standing in the Spurs way is an Oklahoma City team that fell to the Spurs in seven games in the Western Conference finals.
"We're fighting for the top spot of the mountain and we're going to have to move people in our way," Wembanyama said.
