The Golden State Warriors had all eyes on them this past offseason as they were hoping to make some moves. However, no big-time moves were able to be made, as the cap space didn’t really allow it.

Draymond Green opted out of his contract to try and create some room on the books. When nothing came to fruition, he signed back on the same deal.
“Draymond Green has agreed to return to the Golden State Warriors on a one-year, $27.7 million deal, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul tells ESPN. The contract is the same Green opted out of to give the Warriors flexibility to pursue LeBron James, but the sides land his return Tuesday," ESPN Shams Charania wrote.
Another question was whether or not a Steph Curry extension would get done before the season started. The answer was yes, as Curry signed an extension before training camp.
“Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has agreed to a two-year, $116 million contract extension, tying the franchise legend to the only organization he has ever known through his 20th NBA season, league sources told ESPN's Shams Charania on Friday. The deal includes a player option in the final season (2028-29), according to sources," ESPN's Anthony Slater wrote.
There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Warriors this season, especially when it comes to competing for a playoff spot. One thing head coach Steve Kerr did guarantee was that the two veterans will be starting together.
“Kerr said Steph and Draymond will start. The other three spots in the starting lineup will be decided over the next few weeks of camp,” The Athletic’s Nick Friedell wrote.
This does make sense, as they have been together their entire careers. Green and Curry are really the only known pieces on the roster. The rest have not always been starters in their careers, minus Jimmy Butler, but he is injured.
The duo is going to make this season as best as they can because Green could go elsewhere after this season. Both guys have won four championships together, and they will continue being staples in the starting lineup.
