The Citizens were found guilty in 114 or 115 charges covering 'sham' deals and failure to co-operate for a case that has been ongoing for years.
However, the appeals process will be quicker and must take place within 12 weeks of today's appeal with a decision delivered 30 days after – coincidentally, a total of 114 days.
"The club’s firm position is that, on multiple grounds, the opinion contains clear material errors, of law, principle and fact and is unsafe," City said in a statement.
"The club is innocent of the accusations made by the Premier League and a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence exists in support of all of its positions, relating to this case.
"We will continue to respect due process and are necessarily restricted in what we can say further until all proceedings are complete."
The case is set to continue for some time with the fallout likely to affect trade relations between the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, despite the later supposedly having nothing to do with the running of Manchester City. City sponsors Etihad Airways may also get involved while other clubs could search for compensation.
