The Seattle Seahawks have placed leading rusher and 2026 first-round pick Jadarian Price on injured reserve with a chest injury.
The rookie running back was already listed as out on the Seahawks' injury report for their Week 4 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. But he will now be sidelined for at least four games after going on IR.

“Hopefully, this gives him the opportunity to get healthy,” Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said on Friday before the IR decision was made.
“Unfortunately, injuries happen. He can’t control these things. He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do since he got here,” the coach added. “He’s had a great attitude. He’s been a great teammate. He has a great future. He’s going to play great football for us when he comes back, whenever that is and we move forward.’’
With Price out, Emanuel Wilson and George Holani are the top two running backs on Seattle’s depth chart. Velus Jones Jr. was also signed off the practice squad. Additionally, the Seahawks hope Zach Charbonnet can return when he’s eligible to be activated off IR next week.
The Jadarian Price fumbling thing is unfortunate because he's clearly the RB in Seattle's room with the most juice. If the ball security comes around, he's more than likely gonna give the run game life. pic.twitter.com/8tlS3Oy0T2

Price, who turns 23 on Oct. 9, sustained the injury in Week 2's win over the Arizona Cardinals. But he was limited to 5 rushes in last week's loss to the Washington Commanders, benched after losing a fumble.
In three games, Price has rushed for 119 yards on 28 carries. He sustained the chest injury in Week 2's win over the Arizona Cardinals. But the rookie was limited to 5 rushes in last week's loss to the Washington Commanders, benched during the first half after losing a fumble. He lost fumbles in each of the Seahawks’ past two games.
"With JD, he understands what's going on," Macdonald said on Monday, via ESPN. "He needs to take care of the ball. I think there's some things fundamentally where we can focus on. We're going to continue to give him the ball. We trust him, and we know he's going to work really hard to do his part as well."
Seattle's first-round pick (No. 32 overall) out of Notre Dame, Price rushed for 1.692 yards and 21 touchdowns in three seasons, averaging 6 yards per carry. He lost 5 fumbles among his 280 carries in college.
"I think just, as a team, if we turn the ball over, it's not good business," Macdonald said after the 33-31 loss to the Commanders. "I know [Price] didn't come back after the initial fumble. We decided to calm it down and bring him back after the half, but he's going to be fine. He's going to figure it out. He'll be fine."
