Gabby Williams had plenty to celebrate after helping the Golden State Valkyries erase a 16-point deficit and eliminate the Dallas Wings in the first round of the WNBA Playoffs.

The Valkyries rallied for a 77-73 victory Friday at Chase Center in a winner-take-all Game 3, earning the franchise’s first playoff series victory. Williams made sure the home crowd knew exactly how she felt afterward.

During postgame interaction with ESPN’s on-court reporter, Williams said, “Man, I’m happy. I don’t care. I’m lit right now.

“BAY AREAAAAA!” she immediately shouted afterwards

Williams finished with 19 points, but most of her damage came after halftime. She entered the third quarter with only two points before finding her rhythm and scoring 17 points over the final 13 minutes.

The Wings appeared to have control after opening the second half with nine straight points. Their 11-0 run to close the second quarter had already given Dallas a 44-37 halftime lead, and the advantage eventually grew to 53-37 early in the third.

Golden State slowly chipped away, though. Veronica Burton sparked the comeback with her work on both ends, while Williams returned to the floor and became the Valkyries’ biggest offensive weapon.

Dallas still held a 72-67 advantage with 3:13 remaining after Arike Ogunbowale scored seven straight points following a brief exit with an apparent groin issue.

Ogunbowale led Dallas with 30 points after her 45-point Game 2 performance, while Paige Bueckers had 17 points on 3-of-14 shooting. Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakase also dealt with some issues on the sideline as she seemingly passed out.

The victory sends Golden State into the semifinals against the Las Vegas Aces, with Game 1 scheduled for Sunday at Chase Center.
