According to a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, the deep-cleaning initiative covered 280 prominent station locations. Specialized sanitation tasks included descaling 174 toilets at over 71 stations, scrubbing 280 dustbins, clearing more than 77 km of drains, water outlets and deep-cleaning around 140 administrative offices. Advanced mechanized equipment, such as scrubber-driers, high-pressure jet washers, ride-on sweepers and fogging machines, was strategically deployed across 24 stations to maintain superior hygiene standards. Further 27 washrooms and bathing areas were cleaned and checked for functional services.

Special emphasis was accorded to catering hygiene and passenger amenities. Sanitation and commercial teams inspected food stalls and undertook rigorous deep-cleaning across 780 catering units, 14 pantry cars, and three base kitchens, backed by comprehensive pest and rodent control across food storage areas. The three-day intensive drive collected more than 5 tonnes of waste, taking the cumulative waste cleared and scientifically disposed of between 2nd and 5th October to almost 8 tonnes.
