The Golden State Warriors enter the 2026-27 NBA season with one of the league's most interesting rosters.
Right now, it's not even unfair to suggest the Warriors have one of the worst teams in the Western Conference, though having guys like Stephen Curry always puts them in a position to win games. If the Warriors are going to be the team they need to be, it's because guys like Draymond Green, Curry, and Jimmy Butler are healthy and ready to go.
There's also the Kristaps Porzingis factor, though his injury history suggests he'll miss a good bit of time.
As for other players who need to step up for Golden State, youngster Brandin Podziemski is at the top of that list. Podziemski is a decent young player, but really isn't much more than just that. However, the Warriors seem to like what they have with him, with reports indicating they'd like to get a deal done with the youngster in the near future.
According to the latest from Marc Stein, the Warriors are even hopeful that it could happen sometime this week.
“Regarding Podziemski specifically: Word relayed to The Stein Line this week is that both sides want to get a deal done… but that is obviously dependent on beating the ticking clock,” Stein reported, H/T BR.
With how below average this Warriors team looks right now, I don't necessarily agree with giving Podziemski a deal.
Not to say that he's a terrible player by any means, but do they really want to pay somebody like him right now? That's the question the Warriors have to answer, as it's an important one if they want to go in a different direction.
