Jazz Chisholm Jr. had plenty to say after the New York Yankees were swept by the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS. The Yankees’ early playoff exit also brought attention to how Aaron Judge handled the difficult ending and the boos he received during the series.

Chisholm said Judge remained the same leader he has been throughout the season, speaking to the team and helping players stay focused after the 4-3 loss in Game 3.
“He always, I mean, he’s a captain. He always steps up and speaks to us and you know, he helps us out and keeps our mind on the right path and everything like that and keeps us positive,” Chisholm said.

Chisholm also addressed the boos Judge received from Yankees fans. He said the reaction did not surprise him because he had seen Judge experience the same treatment before, despite being a three-time MVP.
“What boo? I mean, it doesn’t hurt. It’s just confusing because it’s the playoffs, and we’re trying to win games. So you’re booing a guy that’s playing currently trying to help the team win, and you’re hearing boos instead of trying to hype guys up,” Chisholm added.
Judge was unable to return during the postseason after being left off the Yankees’ playoff roster because of a right calf strain. His absence became painful as New York managed only five runs across the three-game series.
The loss also marked Chisholm’s third straight postseason ending before the Yankees reached the ALCS. After another disappointing October, he said he would have preferred communication about his own future rather than being left wondering what comes next.
For now, the Yankees enter an offseason filled with questions after another season ended without a championship.
