The Arizona Cardinals have stumbled since their surprising Week 1 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, now sitting at 1-3 on the 2026 NFL season. One of the key culprits of the frustration has been wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., the former first-round draft pick who has yet to find his footing at the NFL level consistently.
On Saturday, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on X, formerly Twitter, that “…the Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a deal to trade WR Marvin Harrison,” citing a report from himself and NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport. “The team informed Harrison this morning that he will be inactive for Sunday’s game vs Detroit as details of the trade are finalized.”
Schefter didn’t clarify which team Harrison was being traded to, but did add that “Houston has been, and is thought to be, square in the mix for Harrison.”

Meanwhile, NFL analyst Ryan Paganetti speculated on X that “My take on it is someone sent an offer, Cardinals agreed they will do it for the price offered on Sunday/Monday AM *if* no one offers anything better in that time frame.”
If it is indeed the Texans that end up trading for Harrison Jr., it would make sense, considering that team’s struggles on the offensive side of the ball, and injuries to wide receivers like Tank Dell and Nico Collins.
Meanwhile, Harrison Jr. still clearly has a lot of talent and big-catch ability, even as he’s struggled to make it all come together at the NFL level.
Clearly, it shouldn’t be very long before the trade destination is officially revealed.
