Colts reportedly not ‘mystery team’ finalizing trade for Cardinals Marvin Harrison Jr.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, there is a mystery NFL that is finalizing a trade for Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. this weekend; however, that finalist is not the Indianapolis Colts per both ESPN’s Stephen Holder and FOX59/CBS4’s Mike Chappell:
It’s NOT the Colts, per source. Cardinals were asking for a second round choice and more. Wow https://t.co/v9YVB4YjnD

Per source, Marv Jr isn’t heading to Indy. like just about every team, Colts did due diligence but that’s all. Prob decided price too steep. imo bringing Marv Jr to Indy would have brought unrealistic expectations, pressure. https://t.co/q3T44RBs2R

Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Cardinals were recently requesting at least a second round pick and more for the former 4th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, who despite two plus underwhelming seasons in the desert is still only 24-years-old.
Holder reports that the Colts were legitimately interested, but not at the price point Arizona had been requesting from other teams to actually move him.
There is currently speculation right now that the ‘mystery team’ could be the Colts’ AFC South rival Houston Texans, as Harrison Jr. would reunite with his former Ohio State teammate CJ Stroud.
The son of legendary Colts wideout and Hall of Fame wideout Marvin Harrison Sr. has just 5 receptions for 85 total receiving yards and a touchdown reception during 4 games for the Cardinals so far this season.
That being said, with lead wideout Alec Pierce out for the foreseeable future with his reinjured heel, and a number of recent injuries to their wide receiver room, including to Ashton Dulin, Keenan Allen, and Darius Slayton, it’s not as though the Colts couldn’t use reinforcements at the wideout position.
In my opinion, a second round pick may have been a little steep given his current lackluster production and descending career trajectory, but it will still sting if he ends up joining the Texans among almost any other NFL squad.
