The Giants force a 3-and-out as Tremaine Edmunds and Darius Alexander force Jayden Daniels to throw the ball away on 3rd and long.

Abdul Carter makes his presence known, running Jayden Daniels down for the sack.

The Giants struggle to find anything like traction on offense, and their opening drive fizzles after Dominic Zvada misses a 50-yard field goal attempt. His first miss as a professional.

Darnell Mooney is back in the game, but the Giants are moving backward.

The Giants’ wide receiver depth is already being tested as Darnell Mooney is staying on the ground.

Jameis Winston picks up a long first down and now it’s McCarthy time.

The Giants win the coin toss and will defer to the second half. The Commanders will get the ball to start the game.

Weather could be a factor. Showers are expected during the game, with thunderstorms possible later in the day, per the National Weather Service. Winds will be between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts up to 26 mph. Ball security, which has been a major focus for Giants head coach John Harbaugh, will be a major factor. So, too, could the effectiveness of the Giants’ running game.

Washington gets a boost on Sunday with the returns of quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin. The Commanders will be missing a trio of safeties — Nick Cross, Percy Butler, and Tyler Owens.
