Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Darnell Washington made an impact with his blocking against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, showing just how much his size can benefit the team's running game.
At 6-foot-7 and 264 pounds, Washington used his strength to neutralize multiple defenders in one sequence. He finished one block before moving to another defender, then leveraged that matchup to help take a third opponent out of the play.
A FREAK ATHLETE: #Steelers TE Darnell Washington who stands at a MASSIVE 6-foot-7 and weighs 264 pounds just put on an INSANE blocking clinic. Washington blocked one defender, then a SECOND, and then used the second guy to BLOCK A THIRD. A HUMAN TANK. https://t.co/PGeDKvJqUG

That physicality helped create room for Jaylen Warren to break loose for a big gain. In the third quarter, Warren found a lane up the middle and raced 50 yards into the end zone, with Washington out in front clearing the path.
Washington's contribution was a reminder of his value as a run blocker, where his imposing frame can help Pittsburgh create opportunities on the ground.
