UFC Vegas 122 Highlights! Wellmaker Loses Again After Violent Head Kick KO

Former Contender Series star Malcolm Wellmaker suffered a shocking third-straight loss earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 10, 2026) at UFC Vegas 122 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, after getting put out by a second-round knockout (head kick and punches) courtesy of Georgian bantamweight Otari Tanzilovi.

Despite Wellmaker’s two-fight losing streak entering Saturday night, the 135-pound knockout artist was still a good size betting favorite over Tanzilovi. Wellmaker recently moved to American Top Team in hopes of reinvigorating his bantamweight stock, but the verdict was still out. Unfortunately for Wellmaker, Tanzilovi wasn’t going to be denied in his second Octagon appearance no matter the cost.

Tanzilovi was game from the opening bell and wasn’t looking to back down from Wellmaker’s striking. The Georgian prospect did run into some trouble midway through the first as Wellmaker did some nice body work and came close to a potential finish, but Tanzilovi retaliated with a few timely takedowns to regroup and score some valuable control time.

Wellmaker continued to press the action early into the second as he was scoring at a good clip. Tanzilovi was tough, though, and fired back when he could. This included a perfectly-placed right head kick in close that caught Wellmaker flush and sent him crashing to the canvas. Tanzilovi followed up with a few punches before the referee stepped in for the stoppage.
