The 22-year-old who became the 1000th footballer to represent Germany when he made his debut in a recent nations league clash against Serbia said to CelticPlayer after the win over Motherwell : “I’m very, very happy with the performance because it was a very important game today after how we finished the first period before the international break.”
Baur said of his scoring chances: “I had, I think, two in the first half. One or two in the second as well.
“That’s on me to score there, absolutely. But, yeah, I think that will happen in the next game, so again just stay calm and be in the situations, be there to have the situations, have the shots on target, and then hopefully in the next games I will score again.
“The score could be 3-0 or 4-0 maybe at the end. But it’s not always that easy.
“The goalkeeper was really good as well. But it’s a performance to build on, absolutely.
“That’s a good start after the international break. And we have a lot of games now to just keep improving in the coming weeks.”
