Yet another Carolina Panthers player is set to hit the operating table

On Tuesday, the team announced that they have placed second-year defensive tackle Cam Jackson on injured reserve. Jackson has sustained a shoulder injury—one, as confirmed by head coach Dave Canales on Monday, will require season-ending surgery.

"The shoulder was significant enough to be repaired," Canales told reporters this afternoon. "Thought we could get him focused on that part, and then bring him back to us after his recovery."

Jackson was inactive for the Panthers' last outing, their Week 4 win over the Detroit Lions. He has also been dealing with a knee issue—which will not need to be surgically repaired, per Canales.

Carolina selected Jackson, a University of Florida product, in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He's appeared in 10 games since, totaling 11 combined tackles.
