The Milwaukee Brewers cannot breathe a sigh of relief at any point of their NLCS clash against the Los Angeles Dodgers. While they may have won both Game 1 and Game 2 even though Tarik Skubal and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, respectively, were on the mound for LA, their matchup on the mound is not about to get any easier with Blake Snell likely to start Game 3 against the Brewers.

The memory of Snell’s start in the 2025 NLCS must still be fresh in the Brewers’ memory. Snell mowed them down in Game 1 of that series, as he put up a one-hit gem in eight innings of work while striking out 10 batters. That game essentially set the tone for LA, as they went on to sweep the Brewers in a series that was much closer than many remember.
But a lot can change in a year, and Snell knows it. In fact, the Dodgers’ starter for Game 3 is even paying attention to the Brewers’ interviews and he’s noticing that they’re much more resilient mentally. The goal now for him is to try and rattle them.

“I noticed how they talk, a lot of one on one competition is a key for them. The way Pat Murphy talks to the team is way different than last year. How do you counter that? How do you get them into a different place? They’re in a good spot but adversity hits and that’s when thoughts start racing,” Snell said, per Dodgers Nation on X.
This Brewers team is learning from the difficult lessons their past has taught them. There’s no reason for them to fret whatsoever, and the Dodgers will have their work cut out for them if they were to try and knock them off their game.
The best way to do so is to start winning ballgames. And Snell will have to recapture last year’s magic if he were to play his part in igniting this NLCS comeback for the Dodgers now that they’re down 2-0 to the Brewers.
