Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman responded Thursday to a report that he and Joe Buck got into an argument over their ESPN contracts.
On Wednesday, Front Office Sports reported that the two had a contentious exchange while in the booth to call the most recent game on Monday Night Football. The argument reportedly erupted after Buck received a massive contract extension while Aikman was still waiting for his own offer.

The pair was previously the top broadcast team at Fox before moving over to ESPN, and have been together in the booth for more than 20 years.
Aikman appeared on Dallas-based radio station KTCK The Ticket on Thursday morning. During the interview, he was asked to confirm what went down in the broadcast booth a few nights earlier.
He didn’t deny the reporting, saying:
There’s probably a time and a place for all that to be discussed. I don’t know if now’s the time.
I don’t think that it’s hard to figure out kind of what’s happened. I’ll broadcast through this season and I’ll be a free agent at the end of the year, and kind of see what happens; but I’m looking forward to whatever the rest of this season does hold, and the Super Bowl and all that, and where my next landing spot may be.

Last month, Buck and ESPN agreed to a six-year contract extension worth $100 million. As noted at the time by The Athletic, the extension means that Buck will also call ESPN’s next Super Bowl in 2031. Now, it seems there is no guarantee that game will include Aikman.
