The Green Bay Packers have a new player catching punts during the team's "Sunday Night Football" game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6.

Coleman Owen, who signed with the Packers in late September, took the team's first punt return in the first quarter.
He had 16 yards on the return.
The second-year NFL player was elevated from the practice squad for the game and gets an opportunity with returner/wide receiver Skyy Moore on injured reserve.
Matthew Golden handled punt returns in last week's win over the Chicago Bears but coach Matt LaFleur likely wants the former first-round draft pick to focus on his receiving duties.

Who is Coleman Owen?
The Packers signed Owen to the practice squad on Sept. 30 after he was released by the Colts earlier in the month.
Owen spent much of last season on the Colts' practice squad and was active for two games late in the 2025 season.

Coleman Owen college
He played at Northern Arizona from 2019-23 and finished his college career at Ohio of the Mid-American Conference in 2024.
At Ohio, he started 14 games and had 78 receptions for 1,245 yards and eight touchdowns, earning first-team All-MAC honors.
Coleman also returned 17 punts and totaled 132 yards and a touchdown.
He went undrafted in 2025.

During his two appearances with the Colts in the 2025 season, Owen had five kickoffs for 141 yards with a long of 33 yards. He also had one punt return.
He signed a futures-reserve contract after the season with the Colts and spent the entire offseason and training camp in Indianapolis.
However, he suffered a concussion in the preseason finale and put on injured reserve before being released Sept. 7.
