In fact, it was so loud that Tennessee announced that Neyland Stadium hit 130.3 decibels late in the third quarter. It set the record for the highest scientifically verified noise in college football history.

This is when it happened:

Tennessee led 19-10 before going on to win 26-10. The two schools have traded wins in each of the last five seasons.

With the win, the Vols are now 6-1 overall, while the Crimson Tide are 5-2 and have lost two in a row after a perfect 5-0 start. The Tide now probably need to win out just to make the College Football Playoff this year.

As for the Vols, they’re in good shape and very much control their own destiny for a CFP berth.

What’s next for both teams?

The Vols will play the South Caroline Gamecocks in their next game on Saturday before playing the Kentucky Wildcats on Nov. 7.

The Tide will play the Texas A&M Aggies this Saturday before traveling to Baton Rouge to play the LSU Tigers on Nov. 7.
