Packers running back Josh Jacobs participates in Oct. 22 practice

GREEN BAY − Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs practiced in full pads Oct. 22 for the first time this regular season.
On Oct. 21, the Packers held a light jog-through practice that was closed to the media. So Oct. 22 was the first time Jacobs was able to fully participate after being removed from the NFL commissioner’s exempt list and missed the first six games.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Jacobs will practice the next two days and then they’ll have conversations to see where he’s at heading into the Oct. 25 game against the Detroit Lions.
“We’ve been getting him ramped up,” LaFleur said. “He’s been in the building. We’ve been doing things with him, in terms of our strength staff, our athletic training staff. You can’t simulate football until you get out there. These next two days are going to be great work for him as we ramp him up.”
Only one player missed practice.
Bo Melton injury update
Packers wide receiver Bo Melton was the lone player held out of practice.
He appeared on the Oct. 21 injury report with a back injury and was estimated as a non-participant then.
Melton was spotted off to the side doing a separate workout.
Jordan Love injury update
Packers quarterback Jordan Love was in pads and participating in practice.
Love also appeared on the injury report with a back injury. LaFleur said Love first mentioned his back being sore following the team’s win over the Dallas Cowboys.
“He was pretty beat up. He took some shots,” LaFleur said. “I saw him in there with the chiropractor postgame so I knew something was up.”
Love told reporters Oct. 21 that he is not missing the Lions game.
Christian Watson injury update
Packers receiver Christian Watson was in pads and going through practice.
He appeared on the injury report with an ankle injury and was estimated as a limited participant in Oct. 21 jog-through.
Matthew Golden injury update
Packers receiver Matthew Golden was also with the rest of the receivers going through practice.
The injury report lists him with a shoulder injury.
LaFleur said there’s no concern about the game status for both Watson and Golden.
Aaron Banks injury update
Packers guard Aaron Banks was out on the field and going through practice.
He also participated in a full week of practice last week, but was ruled out for the Week 6 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
He’s been available for only one game this season, the first half of the Week 2 game against the New York Jets.
Jordon Riley injury update
Packers defensive tackle Jordon Riley is in the second week of his practice window as he’s working toward his return from injured reserve following last year’s season-ending Achilles injury.
LaFleur is pleased with where he’s at: "I think he's shown a ton of progress. It was good to get him out there last week and get his feet wet a little bit. If he continues to show that progress, then we'll see where we're at, and he'd be ready to go."
