The New York Giants are getting reinforcements in their secondary ahead of their Week 7 road matchup against the Houston Texans, with cornerback Paulson Adebo set to return from injured reserve.
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported Saturday on X, formerly known as Twitter, that New York will activate Adebo later in the day.
“Paulson Adebo will be activated from IR later today.

“‘He’s ready to go,’ John Harbaugh said on Friday.
“With Greg Newsome (concussion) out, Adebo could be right back in starting mix.
“Also, may have a Jalin Hyatt sighting. He’s worked hard to earn an elevation + opportunity.”
Adebo’s return comes at an important time for the Giants with Newsome ruled out because of a concussion. Adebo could immediately move back into a starting role in New York’s secondary against Houston.
The veteran cornerback began the season as part of the Giants’ defensive backfield before landing on injured reserve. His activation gives head coach John Harbaugh another experienced option as New York attempts to bounce back from its Week 6 defeat.
The Giants could also give wide receiver Jalin Hyatt an opportunity against the Texans. Raanan reported that Hyatt has worked to put himself in position for an elevation to the active roster.
New York enters Week 7 with a 3-2-1 record after suffering a 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints last week. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy delivered an encouraging performance in the defeat and will remain under center as the Giants look to get back into the win column.
The Giants will visit the Texans (2-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on Fox. Adebo’s expected return could provide a significant boost to a New York defense that will be without Newsome.
