Munger, a junior from Chamberlain, concluded his 2026 season by placing first at the Whistling Straits Classic on Oct. 19-20 in Kohler, Wisconsin, with a 1-under-par-71 score in the first round of play, putting him atop the leaderboard after the second round got called off due to weather conditions.

Munger recorded three birdies, and, specifically the birdie on Hole No. 4 secured him the scorecard tiebreaker victory over the competition out of the 90-golfer field. The weekly GPAC award marks Munger's second of his career as a golfer.

As a team, the Tigers finished 10th out of 17 squads in the final tournament of the fall season. The spring season for DWU men's golf begins March 1-3 at the RMC Invitational in Henderson, Nevada.
