Tennessee (6-2, 3-2 SEC) has a week off after last week's last-second loss at South Carolina.
The Vols will be able to observe a full Saturday of college football before the Nov. 3 CFP rankings release. Tennessee will have an idea of where it lands among the glut of two-loss SEC teams and one-loss teams from the Big 12 and ACC.
The Vols has little margin of error going into the final four games of the regular season, starting with Kentucky.
When is the next Tennessee football game?
Tennessee hosts Kentucky on Nov. 7 at Neyland Stadium in the first night conference game of the season in Knoxville.
The Wildcats (7-1, 5-1) have surprised in Will Stein's first season. Kentucky is ahead of Tennessee in the polls and the SEC standings, but those two variables could change as soon as next week's game.
Where will Tennessee football be ranked in CFP rankings this week?
The coaches poll has Tennessee at No. 16, with the AP poll at No. 17. While the CFP rankings will look different, it gives an idea of where the Vols may land on Nov. 3.
Given the remaining schedule, including Kentucky and LSU visiting Neyland as ranked opponents, a spot just inside the top 15 is reasonable.
And no matter the ranking, Tennessee is a 4-0 November away from a CFP berth.
