Dolphins WR Malik Washington exits vs. Patriots with injury

· Yahoo Sports

The Miami Dolphins were driving in the second quarter of their Week 8 matchup against the New England Patriots on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium before an unfortunate injury.

On third-and-4 at New England's 43-yard-line, Malik Willis hit wide receiver Jalen Tolbert over the middle for an eight-yard gain that kept the chains moving. Unfortunately, during the play, Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss hit wide receiver Malik Washington, and the wideout remained down.

Elliss was flagged for unnecessary roughness, and Washington exited the game under his own power and went back to the blue medical tent.

Without Washington, Miami will have Tolbert, Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman Jr. to throw to.

UPDATE: Before the end of the half, Washington returned to the game and caught a touchdown.
