Pitt is back on track.

With a 34-11 win over Georgia Tech at home on Saturday night, Pat Narduzzi‘s Panthers ended a three-game skid.

True freshman tailback Damon Ferguson Jr. was the star of the night, punching it in twice and piling up 185 yards on 31 carries while his side’s defense quieted the visitors.

To start things out, though, Pitt settled for a field goal after a rash of penalties on their second drive of the night, which began on Georgia Tech’s 31-yard line after the Yellow Jackets were pinned inside their 5 by Gabe Russo. One of those infractions, drawn by Ryan Carretta getting a paw in Tawfiq Thomas’ face, canceled out a 28-yard touchdown pass from fifth-year Holden Geriner to Malik Knight. Three plays later, Antonio Chadha nailed a 45-yard field goal.
