The FSU Seminoles have suffered another blow to their 2027 recruiting class, with three-star wide receiver Majay Thompson decommitting on Sunday, announcing the news on social media. The news comes after they lost to the Clemson Tigers on Saturday.

"After conversations with my people, i’ve decided to decommit and reopen my recruitment," he wrote. "I appreciate everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. Excited for what’s next!"

Thompson committed to FSU on June 19, picking the Seminoles over the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons. He also recently visited the Virginia Tech Hokies.

He is ranked as the No. 530 overall player and No. 71 wide receiver in the 247Sports composite. The Shelby native is also the No. 19 player from North Carolina.

His departure leaves FSU with 14 commitments in the 2027 recruiting cycle, with four-star Sean Green as their only wide receiver commit. Thompson is the eighth decommit for FSU this cycle.

247Sports now ranks FSU's 2027 recruiting class as the 50th best in the country and the 15th best in the ACC. Seven of their 14 commits are four-star prospects.
