The Cincinnati Bengals did whatever they wanted in the first half in Madrid. Cincinnati entered halftime up 24-10 over Atlanta after a special start from their offense. It should be no surprise that Ja’Marr Chase was a big part of the Bengals’ hot start.

Chase joined legendary wide receiver Randy Moss as the only receivers in NFL history with seven or more touchdowns in each of their first six seasons in the league, per Ari Meirov.

Ja’Marr had some truly explosive production during the first half. He hauled in eight receptions for 142 receiving yards and a touchdown. That is the most by any Bengals player in the first half since 1988, per ESPN Insights.

Chase showed a little bit of everything in the first half. On top of his great stats, he logged 55 yards after the catch and two broken tackles. The actual catches themselves were quite impressive, with one toe-tapping catch and another wild one-handed grab.

The Bengals needed their passing game to power their offense in the first half. Cincinnati finished the first half with just over 40 rushing yards on nine attempts. Chase Brown was not finding much room to operate on a consistent basis. That put a lot more pressure on Burrow, Chase, and Tee Higgins to move the sticks.

Cincinnati started off strong with a 47-yard touchdown pass between Burrow and Chase on the team’s opening drive. Chase continued hauling in impressive catches after that, nearly scoring on a few different occasions.

Higgins also caught a touchdown pass and Burrow sneaked the ball in for a one-yard rushing touchdown. Finally, kicker Evan McPherson drilled a 57-yard field goal just before halftime.

Hopefully the Bengals can continue leaning on their offense throughout the second half. If they can keep up this pace, they should prevail with a victory.

Cincinnati is up 31-17 with just two minutes left in the third quarter.
