With 10:52 remaining in the quarter, quarterback George MacIntyre fired a pass to Brame down the sideline. The tight end hauled in the pass, but Kentucky defender CJ Works knocked the ball free at the end of the play. Brame stayed down before the medical staff tended to him.
Brame appeared to slam his head on the grass after Works landed on him. He exited the field with help from two medical staffers, entering the medical tent on the sidelines.
Tennessee settled for a field goal on the drive to take a 13-6 lead. Had Brame held onto the ball, it would've been a 20-yard touchdown reception for the sophomore.
Brame has been a key piece of Tennessee's offense since Week 2 when Ethan Davis suffered an ACL injury. At 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, Brame has been a useful part of the Vols' 12 personnel looks on offense alongside Trent Thomas.
He has 14 catches for 181 yards this season. Freshman tight end Luca Wolf is next in line after Thomas.
