Oregon coach Dan Lanning trolls Ohio State players, points at score

To the victors go the spoils (and boasting), especially when a little bad blood is brewing, like what we saw towards the end of the Ohio State vs. Oregon game.

With the Buckeyesgetting embarrassed in their own building by an Oregon team that finally let all of its talent show up and cook, some of the Buckeye and Duck players got involved in a skirmish that involved several players and spilled off the field and onto the sidelines. Oregon head coach Dan Lanning was ready with receipts.

We don't know exactly what was said or done that led to the dust-up between the two teams, but we know Ohio State cornerback Jermaine Mathews Jr. was heavily involved, jawing at the Oregon players and sideline about something. There were offsetting penalties, with cooler heads prevailing eventually, but not before Lanning broke out a tried-and-true emphasis on the score of the game by pointing up to the scoreboard while Mathews and others were engaged in a word salad.

Watch as Lanning seems to direct his attention towards some of the Ohio State players by pointing up to the sad state of the game during the fourth quarter, when things were clearly out of hand both in the game flow and with emotions.

Sometimes coaches do things that feel good in the moment, and I guess Lanning wanted to make a statement, but it's hard to see Ohio State head coach Ryan Day doing anything like this. The reality is that Oregon whooped up on all things Scarlet and Gray, and if he's feeling like he can troll the players, fans, and coaches, then -- well, don't put yourself in that position.

What do you think? Is this classless, or a case of some of the Ohio State players being put in their place?
