3 Nets takeaways from 148-111 loss at Jaylen Brown, Celtics
· Yahoo Sports
The Brooklyn Nets (15-44) have not been able to win a game since coming out of the All-Star break and part of the explanation is the competition that the Nets have been facing since their break. Brooklyn's tough schedule continued with a visit at the Boston Celtics (39-20) and despite an encouraging first half, the Nets weren't able to sustain that level of play.
The Nets lost at the Celtics 148-111 on Friday despite trailing by as little as six points in the middle of the third quarter due to how well Boston played as a whole. Forward Michael Porter Jr. had 18 points and two rebounds to lead the team in scoring while rookie forward Danny Wolf had 16 points and two rebounds off the bench in the blowout.

The Celtics were led by guard Jaylen Brown and his 28 points and nine assists, but center Nikola Vucevic also had a terrific effort with his 28 points and 11 rebounds coming off the bench. The Nets suffer a tough loss, but they have to get ready to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. Until then, here are three Nets takeaways from Friday's loss at the Celtics:
Michael Porter Jr. Has Efficient, But Short Outing
Much has been made of Porter's offensive struggles over the past month or so, but he seems to have corrected the issues for the most part over the past few games. Unfortunately for Porter, the Nets haven't been able to stay in games long enough for him to approach 30 points, but the good news is that he appears to have bounced back with his long-range shooting.
Danny Wolf Shows Off Offensive Versatility
Wolf, like most rookies, has had his fair share of struggles this season, but the offensive side of the floor has been the more pressing issue for him, especially considering that his theoretical upside is on that end of the court. Wolf didn't exactly shoot the lights out from behind the three-point line, but he did a great job of getting to his in-between game and finished at the rim despite Boston's formidable backline.
Josh Minott, Grant Nelson Debut For Nets
Two new Nets, forwards Josh Minott and Grant Nelson, made their debut for the Nets in this one with Minott entering the game against his most recent team with a thunderous dunk to cap off a fastbreak. Minott played well overall as he dropped nine points and two rebounds while Nelson entered the game once the blowout got out of hand, picking up four assists and two blocks in 10 minutes off the bench.
