San Francisco Giants first baseman/designated hitter Rafael Devers hit his third home run of the 2026 season in his team's 5-1 loss vs. the San Diego Padres on Wednesday, but it was the former Boston Red Sox All-Star's first long ball in nearly one month.

Devers has had a rough spring thus far, as he enters Thursday with a career-worst .221/.265/.329 slash line, as well as -0.9 wins above replacement (WAR) and just nine walks against 45 strikeouts.
It was recently reported that the 29-year-old had been avoiding reporters as well.
MLB insider Jon Heyman of MLB Network and the New York Post said on Wednesday that it's even "a possibility" Devers could be traded for a second year in a row.
"Obviously he's not performing in San Francisco. I know he's better than that," Heyman said. "(The Giants) are not in the race right now. If they do sell, (Devers) is a possibility, at least in my mind. Do they want to give that up after they just traded for him a year ago? It’s probably a long shot, but I’m throwing that out there."
Could the Giants look to move Rafael Devers if their struggles continue? 😳

The Red Sox traded Devers to the Giants last June and he finished the 2025 campaign with 35 home runs, 109 RBIs and a career-high 112 walks.
