After previously spending nine years with Cleveland, Njoku will now catch passes from quarterback Justin Herbert. The tight end is coming off a down year, recording 293 yards with four touchdowns in his last season with the Browns.

Njoku's best season of his career was in 2023 when he was named a Pro Bowler. He posted a career-high 882 yards with six scores that year.

At the conclusion of the 2025 season, Njoku became an unrestricted free agent. He will join Charlie Kolar, another offseason addition, in the tight end room.

The Chargers looked to revamp their offense by hiring Mike McDaniel as their new offensive coordinator. The team has continued to add to the unit and Njoku is the latest addition.
